Title: Manufacturing Manager

Role: Managing Production, Shipping, Receiving, Purchasing

Reports to: CEO/President

Direct reports: Electromechanical Technician, Electromechanical Assembler, Quality Assurance & Testing Technician, Customer Support Technician

Position Purpose Statement/Objective

The Manufacturing Manager contributes to the overall success of the organization by: effectively managing all tasks related to the hardware procurement & production of products & services to maximize the return on investment by establishing and maintaining proactive and efficient policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems.

Strategic

  • Leadership
  • At all times adheres to, promotes, and affirms the company culture, vision, mission, and core values
  • Recommends strategies for lean, efficient, and proactive production and MRP processes
  • Contributes to and collaborates with leadership team to ensure production department goals are aligned with company goals and growth strategies
  • Management
  • Departmental staff recruitment, development, training and management
  • Monitor and review performance of staff and organize necessary interventions for improvement
  • Determine & implement the human, material, and process resources required for production needs & targets
  • Plan, control, review, and adjust the production schedule
  • Collaborate & coordinate between departments including engineering, production, procurement, distribution and management
  • Make decisions about equipment use, maintenance, modification and procurement
  • Set and implement standard operating procedures, quality standards, and purchasing policies for production operations
  • Implement and enforce quality control and tracking programs to meet quality objectives
  • Estimate production costs on new product development efforts
  • Manage MRP through project prioritization, supplier relationship and SLA management, negotiation and administration of contracts, analyzing “make or buy” options & decision making, and utilizing information systems.
  • Oversee Shipping, Receiving, Warehouse Organization
  • Ensure payments terms and inventory policies support the company’s cash-flow and financial objectives

Operational

  • Reporting
  • Update & maintain standard operating procedures
  • Analyze production & report on quality assurance issues
  • Supervisory related reporting at required intervals: Performance Reviews, Incident/Safety, Weekly Shipping Target, Month-end Inventory, Year-end Inventory, etc.
  • Compliance
  • Packaging and transport regulatory awareness, compliance and information communication
  • Ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety regulations and best practices
  • Ensure standard operating procedures are followed
  • Transactional
  • Order & Plan materials to arrive on time for assembly
  • Create, Verify, and Process Sales Order Packing Lists
  • Process shipments through UPS Worldship or FedEX shipping programs
  • Unpack/Uncrate incoming products, verify contents against packing list
  • Validate incoming products against PO and process paperwork for data entry
  • Create & Process Work Orders for manufactured items
  • Create Purchase Orders based on Sales Order & historical needs
  • Back-up to assembly workforce as needed
  • Back-up to drafting needs for custom staff gages as needed

Qualifications

  • Education
  • Preferred - Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration
  • Industry related certificates & programs related to lean manufacturing, quality assurance best practices, hazardous materials training, etc.
  • Skills
  • Advanced-level Office Suite, ERP, MRP systems
  • Ability to solve complex issues and make timely decisions, manage revolving priorities and time constraints,
  • Planning, Organization, Time Management, Conflict Resolution
  • Professional and collaborative communications with all levels within the organization and externally; including negotiation, delegation, team building

  • Experience
  • Preferably 5-10 years’ progressively responsible experience in Manufacturing/Procurement environment including: production and manufacturing processes and techniques, raw materials sourcing & requirements, quality systems and standards, health and safety standards and compliance
  • Preferably 5 Years in Management/Supervisory roles with direct reports
  • Experience with Fishbowl and QuickBooks is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
